Notable Projects & Publications
Writing With Thread: Textiles of Southwest Chinese Minorities } 2008–2009
- Designed a publication that featured over 300 hand-embroidered Chinese textiles
- This catalogue was printed in Spring 2009 in conjunction with a travelling art exhibit arranged by Thomas Klobe, Emeritus Director of the University of Hawai‘i Art Gallery
Manoa Alcohol Project: Alcohol Awareness Campaign } 2008
- Project Leader in a team of four that researched content on safe alcohol practices and incorporated this information into an original design for a student planner
- Over 2000 copies were printed and distributed freely on campus in Fall 2008
Kaimuki as a Place of Bypass } 2007
- This project featured a pair of books that investigated Kaimuki as a bypassed community
- Excerpts from these books were selected for inclusion in the upcoming publication, Design School Confidential, by Steven Heller
- This project was also included on DesigningWithType.com, a website devoted to the appreciation of typography: http://www.designingwithtype.com/Hawaii/index.html
You Are Here Exhibit, Commons Gallery, University of Hawai‘i at Manoa } 2007
- A member of the design team that transformed the Commons Art Gallery into a “map” of Honolulu by filling the space with thousands of paper strips that a visitor was meant to move through in an immersive and claustrophobic experience
